Frequently asked questions about partnerships with bp

We have a clear aim for greater diversity, equity and inclusion for our workforce and customers, and to increase supplier diversity spend to $1 billion. We are working to develop our 2025 and 2030 diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) ambition and goals for gender and racial diversity, and will publish those in 2022. We have included some of our targets, aims and employee diversity statistics in key areas, in our aim 14 document about greater equity.

We have set a clear ambition to increase supplier diversity across the company, linking directly to bp’s wider ambition on responsible business and improving people’s lives in the communities where we work. Supplier diversity helps us build a stronger, better, more competitive company, and aligns with changing demographics in the geographies in which we work.
We are developing our supplier diversity program, working to define measurable criteria for partners in different regions. We define diverse as:

Applications for each type of partnership will be open for a specified number of weeks. The time it takes for us to process applications will depend on the volume received, and we will notify applicants of the next steps after we have reviewed the first wave of applications.

The first step for interested partners to apply, is to have their organisation certified via our diverse supplier portal. Once verified, you will need to provide this verification information as part of the application process.

We will contact all applicants once the submission deadline has closed and we have reviewed your application. We will provide information about next steps and timelines at this stage.

Yes, if you are not successful for a particular partnership application, provided you have met the verification criteria you can apply under any new partner opportunities we have open.

Your application page, visible only to you and our team, will display the status of your application. We will also notify you by email when the status changes.

Creating a profile in the bp diverse supplier portal provides our procurement leaders and buyers easy access to your company's profile and improved market intelligence analysis in your commodity. The new portal has an intuitive interface design to make it easy to use.
